Terms of Service

These terms form an agreement between you and jaexam ("we", "us") governing your use of jaexam at jaexam.com and the associated application. By creating an account you accept them.

1. The service

jaexam provides practice exams and AI-generated feedback for German language examinations. It is a preparation tool. We are not an examination body, we are not affiliated with telc gGmbH or the Goethe-Institut, and nothing produced by jaexam is an official result or a recognised certificate.

2. No guarantee of outcome

AI scoring is an estimate calibrated against examiner-marked material. It may differ from the grade an official examiner awards. We give no warranty that using jaexam will result in passing any official examination, and you remain responsible for your own exam registration and preparation.

3. Your account

• You must be at least 16, or have the consent of a parent or guardian.
• Provide accurate details and keep your credentials confidential.
• One account per person. Accounts may not be shared or resold.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Scrape, copy, resell or redistribute exam content or feedback.
• Reverse engineer the service or attempt to bypass access controls or usage limits.
• Upload unlawful material, or submit content you have no right to submit.
• Use automated systems to generate load beyond normal individual study.

5. Subscriptions and payment

Paid plans renew automatically for the stated period until cancelled. Cancel at any time from your account settings; access continues to the end of the paid period. Prices are shown inclusive of applicable taxes where required. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice, which will not affect the period you have already paid for.

6. Refunds

A free tier exists so you can evaluate the service before paying. Where consumer law grants you a statutory withdrawal right, that right applies. Otherwise, contact support@jaexam.com and we will deal with refund requests reasonably.

7. Intellectual property

We own the platform, its exam materials and its scoring models. You own the answers, essays and recordings you submit, and you grant us the licence needed to process them and produce your feedback.

8. Availability

We aim for continuous availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Maintenance, third-party outages and force majeure may cause interruption.

9. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, and will tell you why unless prevented by law.

11. Changes and contact

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced by email or in the application. Questions go to support@jaexam.com.
